Twitter announced on Tuesday that the social-networking website will allow users to customize their profile pages with a header photo.
New Cover Photo
This new update is very similar to a Facebook cover photo. Your profile information will be placed in the center of the page rather than the left corner of the page. Users will also keep the option of having a background image for even more customization. Pictures or videos that you have tweeted will also be larger for easier viewing.
Updated Mobile Experience
Changes will also be seen on the mobile app and the newly rebuilt iPad app. Users will also be able to browse photos and videos on profile pages easier especially on smartphones. The newly rebuilt iPad app will allow users to access Twitter much like the website with the ability to view photos and videos in fullscreen mode.
How to Add a Cover Photo
The change is currently available to all users by accessing the “design” section of Settings and customizing your Header and Background image. Twitter suggests the image’s minimum dimensions should be 1252 x 626 pixels and a maximum file size of 5MB. Be sure to choose an image that is not too distracting because it will make it difficult for users to read your bio.
