Our Team

A bold designer with a weak spot for white space, a sanguine strategist with an affinity for dark beer, a talented developer who unabashedly adores sci-fi flicks—these are just a few of the incredible people you'll meet at Snap. Our team is affable, driven and packed to the brim with personality. And despite our unique backgrounds and skills, we're all connected by a passion for creating outstanding digital experiences. Oh, and dogs. We're pretty big on dogs.

Life spent cruising at anything less than full throttle isn't being fulfilled.

  • Walking into my office, you'll quickly notice two things: my passion for motorcycles—and my deep admiration for Jack Reacher.

  • After 17 years of building, managing, and optimizing multi-channel online brands, I've come to know this industry inside and out. Having built my first e-commerce store in 2000, I have since launched 15 online stores across three different channels. My past experiences also include serving as the senior executive at Datacard Group and MasterCard International, as well as founding and serving as the executive director of TechDump, a non-profit social enterprise that employed the economically disadvantaged.

  • My drink of choice is El Tesoro Paradiso tequila, which I enjoy casually sipping. Tequila is meant to be sipped—not shot. My other passions in life include motorcycles and my family. Not in that order.

President

A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.

  • As the President of Snap, I spend a good portion of each day standing in front of a whiteboard—asking a million questions to my team—and carefully crafting new strategies that position our agency and clients for success. When pressed, I usually blame my love of data on my days spent as a web developer. When I'm not in a conference room or chatting with my team, you can usually find me painting, installing new cabinets, or consulting with my wife, Ashley, about new office renovations.

  • My job includes forecasting Snap's future in regards to our company culture and the services we provide. But my responsibilities don't end with planning agency initiatives; I take pride in helping my teammates bring these new ideas and processes to life. My greatest responsibility is fostering interpersonal and professional growth for our team.

  • I have what some would call an infatuation with spreadsheets. My spreadsheets have spreadsheets. This affinity really pays off when I'm planning barbecues and other company events. But I have to say—my absolute favorite outings are those spent with my amazing wife and kids.

"Make friends first, make sales second, make love third. In no particular order." - Michael Scott

  • Business, business, business. Is this working? When I'm not closing deals as Snap's Vice President, I act as the office grill master. Every other week in the summer you can find me manning the grill during our company barbecues.

  • As Snap's Vice President, I specialize in bringing new clients to the agency—establishing long-term relationships that benefit both parties. By implementing cutting-edge sales strategies and managing client relations, I ensure Snap's growth and continuous success.

  • As you can probably tell from the Jim Beam-filled Duesenberg on my desk, I love old vehicles. Back in the day, I used to flip motorcycles I sourced from all across the Midwest. My favorite flip ever was a 1973 Suzuki Hustler. Such an awesome ride.

Curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought him back.

  • As a Project Manager for Snap, I keep our endeavors on time and within budget. I'm also exceptionally good at ordering takeout. It's a gift.

  • My responsibilities include internal utilization and managing timelines and budgets for projects and search—both internally and externally. I bridge the gap between our team and clients to ensure all project expectations come to fruition.

  • When I'm not pondering over project timelines and budgets, I love to binge-watch TV. I also have an affinity for board games and get unflatteringly competitive about them.

"The cold never bothered me anyway." - Elsa

  • While most of my coworkers like to complain about Minnesota winters, I actually enjoy the cold by snowshoeing, skiing and biking. When it's not below freezing outside, I can typically be found biking—both for fun and in competition. As a Front-End Developer at Snap, I hoard a healthy chunk of our office's bandwidth, but the happiness of our clients makes it worth it.

  • My job includes working behind the scenes to fix visual and technical website issues and optimize websites for search engines and UX. I speak several different coding languages fluently, and can adapt like a chameleon to any new digital platform.

  • I'm always down for exploring any Minneapolis brewery. I think that a good IPA makes the perfect companion for most evenings. From time to time, you can even find me enjoying a few IPAs while hosting weekly trivia.

"Carpe noctem!"

  • From the moment I got my first computer at the age of 5, an outdated Commodore, I've been obsessed with all things digital. Today, I like to listen to our clients share their story with me, then connect the dots and deliver digital solutions that fit them best. What also gets me excited are bratwurst, beer and Brötchen (now you'll never guess where I'm from).

  • My number one goal is your success. As an Account Manager at Snap, I make sure that our clients get the best for their needs. Helping businesses grow and making them successful in the digital space is what drives me every day. Together with our talented team, I'm proud to serve our clients.

  • Ever since I can remember, I've been passionate about the beautiful game -- soccer. I also love to travel around the world. Every time I visit a new country, I like to learn how the locals say "thank you" -- gracias, arigato, komsomeda!

“Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing.” - Ron Swanson

  • If you've ever been to our office, you might have seen my work displayed outside all of our conference rooms. That's because when I'm not functioning as the Senior Developer for Snap, I enjoy woodworking in my free time. Each sign labeling our conference rooms was made at my home studio here in Minneapolis. I take pride in bringing the same level of creativity to my coding that I use while creating original works of art.

  • While I may have a more behind-the-scenes job than most at Snap, the work I do impacts clients in very meaningful ways. By performing website maintenance and solution architecture, I ensure that the online presence of each client is flawless. In a digital-first world, my services help my clients stand apart from the rest.

  • You may not know this about me, but I actually love cats. My wife and I have four cats at home, and we spoil them like crazy. I also enjoy creating Lego structures in the development office. It's a great way to give my brain a break during the day—and those tiny creations look pretty awesome once completed.

Brennen Phippen

I try to learn at least one new thing every day.

  • I'm like a digital wizard. I specialize in turning designs into lines of code. But when I'm outside of the office, I tend to get as far away from the web as possible. I spend most of my free time mountain biking and enjoying nature.

  • As a Senior Developer for Snap, I ensure the technical success of all of my clients. My primary responsibilities include keeping markups clean and providing clients with complete back-end control over their content. It's my job to ensure that the sites we develop function correctly and reliably.

  • One of my favorite pastimes is debating politics. Obviously, I don't do it in the office, but I'm always happy to have a lively chat about the state of our union over a good beer at happy hour.

“Sometimes I get emotional over fonts.” - Kanye West

  • No day is complete without a few tacos. I have an army of vinyl toys that inspire me to create captivating UX/UI designs—and if you bring me a taco, I might just let you touch one. Might.

  • As a UX/UI Designer at Snap, I help my clients connect with their target audiences through innovative designs. From graphic work to website wireframes, I make sure that each client's brand shines through in every aspect of their digital presence.

  • When I'm not drumming up sweet designs at Snap, I love checking out new movies, music, clothes—pretty much all things art. If it was created to elicit an emotional response, I can draw inspiration (and entertainment) from it.

“Something good comes out of something bad, always.”

  • As a Business Development Manager at Snap, I generate new sales opportunities for current and prospective clients alike. I also have an unabashed love for true crime comedy podcasts.

  • My work centers around creating strategic sales initiatives that bring in new business and help us retain our existing clients. I also represent Snap at network functions, which gives me great opportunities to meet new people and connect with prospective clients.

  • When I'm not drumming up new sales approaches for Snap, you can usually find me at the gym, reminiscing about Aaron Carter—my first celebrity crush—or listening to My Favorite Murder. Seriously, give that podcast a try. You'll love it.

"We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us." -Marshall McLuhan

  • I try to be a more productive and kind person every day, and I feel that Snap reflects this ethos—which is likely why I love working here so much.

  • My role on the production side, at a high level, is to dictate and execute a strategy to put our client's website in front of their target audiences' eyes as often as possible, then measure the result, adjust, and repeat. On the client side, I help discover and explain strategies, set goals, and present reports.

  • I am on a journey to experience as much of what life has to offer as I can. Lately, I have been watching cinema from the Cohen Brothers, playing broomball, planning fishing trips to the north shore of Lake Superior, and loving my friends, and family.

SEO is like a good IPA. The more time you spend refining your recipe, the better your beer will be once brewed.

  • With my dog, Sadie, at my side and a drink nearby, I tackle the world of SEO with excitement. If you ever come into the office, you're likely to meet my dog before anyone else. She has a habit of smiling with her teeth when she's happy, but I promise that she's just excited to meet you. With my smiling, yodeling dog, I like to think that I bring a bit of quirkiness to the workplace every day.

  • As an SEO Strategist for Snap, I have many responsibilities when it comes to helping my clients succeed online. Primarily, I'm responsible for creating successful SEO strategies that address client goals, as well as communicating the importance of a digital presence. By specializing in B2B clients, I help businesses large and small craft original and compelling cross-platform digital strategies that assist them in reaching their full potential online.

  • While I have run two marathons in my life, Sadie and I enjoy casual runs around Lake Calhoun nowadays. When I'm not running, I'm usually thinking about exotic destinations. Having already lived in two foreign countries and visited many more, I'm always looking forward to my next adventure.

"Never stop dreaming, but don't spend all day sleeping." - Me

  • Not to brag, but my pug, Mr. Hans Grüber, thinks I'm pretty hot stuff. When I'm in the office, I enjoy treating my coworkers to my amazing culinary skills and on-point rap game. Between my adorable daughter and graphic design skills, I bring a lot to the office.

  • As a Graphic Designer for Snap, I'm fortunate enough to draw and design for a living. My passion for digital art allows me to excel in my role here at Snap. By designing social media ads, custom iconography, and assisting with in-house design needs, I use my creative skills to help my clients find their unique style.

  • I'm not just good at rapping; I'm GOOD at rapping. I would say it's a hidden talent, but my YouTube account has racked up thousands of views, so it's not really hidden anymore. If any of my coworkers ever need help with anything music-related, they know to come to me. One of my favorite things to do is share new tracks with my friends and family.

Plot twist—eating tacos wasn't cheating on my diet; going on a diet was cheating on my tacos.

  • As Snap's PPC Strategist, I'm more of a wizard-behind-the-curtain kind of guy. While you probably won't see me around a lot, I love collaborating with my team to help our clients succeed. I enjoy working at Snap because I get to help such a wide variety of clients. One day I'll be helping to optimize ads for cat litter, and the next it could be for a walk-in clinic. You never know!

  • I have one of those jobs where no one outside of my agency knows what I do. As a PPC Strategist for Snap, I collaborate with the SEO department to optimize search network account strategy and interface with clients to set and discuss account management focus. By managing all of Snap's PPC accounts, I get a first-row seat to view each client's digital successes.

  • I've owned ten cars, and half of them have been the same make and model, so that's pretty fun. Some would say that my love of cannolis, pizza, and the Giants makes me a stereotypical New Jersey guy—and I would tell those people to go away. In my free time, I enjoy purchasing guitars that I don't know how to play.

“You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write.”
― Saul Bellow

  • As Snap's self-proclaimed funnyman, I keep office morale high—by any pun necessary. What do you call 100 rabbits walking backward? A receding hare line... See?

  • As Snap's Senior Marketing Writer, I create stories that deliver meaningful business results. My responsibilities include assisting in the development of brand strategies and writing on-brand creative content for a wide range of marketing initiatives. It's my job to ensure that the digital content we create attracts and compels customers to take action.

  • When I'm not cracking jokes or writing copy, I enjoy kicking back and unwinding with a cheesy sci-fi book. I'm also a huge fan of movies, comics, games, and pretty much anything else associated with nerd culture. I know my way around a drum kit pretty well, too.

"Treat yo self" -Donna Meagle & Tom Haverford

  • Daily office coffee runs, dogs, summer BBQs, team potlucks, and last, but certainly not least, our awesome clients. There is a lot to look forward to when I come into work every day.

  • As an Account Manager at Snap, I have the privilege of working with a diverse variety of brands and business every day. I am a true people-person, and I enjoy learning about my clients, professionally and personally. In my role I focus on communication, problem solving, and being an internal advocate for my clients and their brand. My friends and family would describe me as “Type A”. What I lack in photoshop skills, I make up for with my organizational expertise and my passion for client success. I pride myself on being the go-to person for my clients' day-to-day needs.

  • In my spare time, you can usually find me rewatching Parks and Recreation for the millionth time. My husband and I like to debate who our favorite character is, but we can never seem to settle on just one. With the time I have left over you can catch me listening to a new podcast, reading Oprah’s newest book club pick, or enjoying a beer at a local brewery.

“I am fast. To give you a reference point, I am somewhere between a snake and a mongoose… And a panther.” - Dwight Schrute

  • I first became interested in coding after winning a science fair in middle school. Since then, I have been fascinated by the evolution of digital language and the capabilities of today's technology. It is this love that drives me to constantly seek out new advancements within my field.

  • In my role of Senior Developer for Snap, I ensure that client websites run efficiently and reliably. I specialize in front-end and back-end development, as well as general website maintenance. With the help of my team, I foster business results through optimized digital mediums.

  • Many people don't know this about me, but I collect pressed pennies. My collection started when I was young and took a trip to Disney Land, and ever since, I've always made it a point to pay 51 cents for a fresh dose of pressed penny goodness.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

  • One of my favorite aspects of my job is the fact that I get to bring my dog, Luna, into the office with me whenever I want. We both enjoy the relaxed environment that Snap provides, and the company picnics don't hurt either. But even when Luna isn't in the office with me, I love the fun atmosphere that Snap always has going.

  • At Snap, I enjoy transcending the traditional definition of a "project manager." In my role, I spend my time tacking utilization and holding my team accountable while creating or assisting with SoWs. Within each project I work on, I'm responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and the expectations of both the internal and external teams.

  • Here are two fun facts about me. One, I'm exceptionally good at hair. In fact, to date, I've done hair for ten friends' weddings. It's just something that I slowly learned to do over time and have grown to really enjoy. Two, my husband and I are both project managers, but we work in two completely different fields. It was just a happy accident that that's how our careers have turned out.

"My aim is to put down on paper, what I see and what I feel, in the best and simplest way." -Hemingway

  • Meeting me for the first time, you might assume that I am perhaps a bit shy. It only takes a good punny joke to crack through the shyness. After that, you may think I am a bit weird, but you get used to that and might even find the same weirdness in yourself—so stay weird.

  • By nature, I am an organized and creative person. This lends itself to my position at Snap as a Graphic Designer. I help organize and solve problems through design and making the experience for the user easier and more enjoyable. I love finding a unique and interesting solution to a design problem.

  • I am a very relational person and love spending quality time with friends and family. You can find me thrifting, climbing, going to shows, creating fun things, and traveling. My ideal day would be a good cup of chai tea at a café while drawing, then thrifting and eating a meal with family.

  • As an Account Manager for Snap, I am the epitome of a people person. And once I've had some caffeine, I enjoy helping my clients to build out their online presence.

  • As an Account Manager for Snap, I am fortunate to be given a front-row seat to view each client's successes. In my role, I take pride in managing client relationships for website and branding projects, advocating for my clients internally, and understanding and facilitating client goals. • I am obsessed with Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and if you don't know who that is, you're just going to have to come to the office so I can play it for you. I'm usually listening to great music while training for my next marathon. I have two fulls and a lot of halves under my belt already, so you'd think it'd be easier by now. But it's still really hard!

"Thank you, hard taco shells, for surviving the long journey from factory, to supermarket, to my plate and then breaking the moment I put something inside you. Thank you." - Jimmy Fallon

  • As an SEO Strategist for Snap, I've become a Renaissance man when it comes to digital best practices. From backlink acquisition to keyword research, I've been there and done that. Outside of digital strategy, I enjoy talking coworkers into going out for lunch way more than I probably should.

  • One of the most important aspects of my job is helping my clients to understand why my team does the things we do, and the importance of a robust digital presence. The online world is constantly changing, and it's my job to stay agile and informed on all changes within the digital realm. With data-driven tactics, I take pride in helping my clients succeed across all digital platforms.

  • Apparently, you can see me shirtless in some lip-synced video of "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. Outside of randomly appearing in music videos without my knowledge, I enjoy spending time with my amazing wife and kids, and reminiscing about the good old days when I used to be in great shape.

  • I've always had a creative personality and an eye for design. From my at-home photography business to working as Snap's Director of Design, I love finding the beauty in everything around me. I think my photographer's eye has played a huge role in my success in the field of design.

  • As Snap's Director of Design, I develop, implement, and manage innovative designs and brand strategies for Snap’s clients. By leveraging my expertise in digital design, branding, and UX best practices, I lead my team in developing smart, compelling content, site structures, and functionality initiatives that drive user engagement and foster outstanding business results.

  • When I'm not designing at Snap, I can be found hanging out with my two beautiful twins, incredible husband, and Corgi, Penny. When the weather is nice, we like to take Penny racing against all of her Corgi friends. She loves it, and we love laughing as she and her fellow vertically-challenged companions speed down the track.
